Finally.....The bday pics and 12 month check up news

We saw the doctor this morning for our 12 month check up. What a disaster that was. The boys had serious meltdowns. The timing was just bad. Our appointments were smack dab in the middle of lunch and after noon naps. Add in some poking and prodding by the doctor, lab work and shots, well, you can imagine how it went.
So, here is the big news that everyone really wants...........height and weights

Lucy- 28 lbs. and 31 1/2 inches tall. She is greater than 95th percentile for weight and is 95th percentile for height. The doctor told us that Lucy is bigger than her 3 year old daughter. She also said she is well on track to be 6 ft. tall. Maybe we have our very own WNBA player in the making. :)
It looks like she is going to have to have surgery to repair her hernia. I had noticed that it was harder and harder to reduce(push in) and so did the doctor. In fact, she was quite concerned about it. She told us to make sure we watch it very closely until we see the surgeon and to reduce it every single time we see it sticking out. That is all the time. We push it in and it pops right back out, unless she is laying down and not moving. So, that would be never.

Joshua- 24 lbs 7 oz and 30 inches tall. He is 70th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. We found out that the neurologist did in fact diagnose him with Spastic Diplagia Cerebral Palsy. He did write in his report that he was very optomistic that he would be able to over come the symptoms.

Markas- 22 lbs 7 oz and 30 1/2 inches. He is 45th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height. He is doing great but it looks(rather smells) like he may have developed reflux. He has horrible smelling breath in the last few days. She checked his nose really well, his ears and his throat and couldn't find a reason for it. She said she smelled it too and it is most likely from reflux. As long as he keeps gaining weight there is no need to really do anything about it. We know that from Joshua and him being sent home with no meds for his reflux after they were born.

I have a ton of pictures from their first birthday party. It was fun. Lucy was funny. I didn't get a picture of it but twice she just shoved her face in the cake. I did get it on video so if I ever find time to download the video I will post it.

Markas took 11 steps on their birthday. I thought that was kind of cool. Unfortunately I was at work so I missed it.
Lucy picked up her spoon tonight and successfully took 2 bites with it. She is also trying to walk. She has taken one or two very tentative steps.
Everyone is clapping now. They love the Christmas tree and the lights. Lucy has at least 8 teeth. Joshua has 7 and Markas has 7. They are sharp little fangs too I might add.

They loved their cake didn't they? Very cute pictures.

Great news on the babies growth, and fantastic news that the Dr. thinks Joshua will overcome the symptoms. I'm praying for him. Keep up the good work!
