From Scratch to cake

Caitlin made this cake for her friend for her birthday. Caitlin occassionally shows intrest in learning how to cook. We went to the store and bought all the stuff she needed. She spent an entire day baking, making icing and decorating this cake. Her friend and her mom came over to drop something off and Caitlin gave her the cake. They decided to stay and share some of the cake with us. It was very good. It was a chocolate cake and Caitlin made whipped cream icing. She struggled a little with the first batch of icing but it worked out and it was good. She has, however, decided that she is never making whipped cream icing again. I also thought she did a good job of decorating the cake. She has never decorated a cake before. She was inspired to do all of this when she found my cake decorating set.
Oh, if anyone knows what I can do with 4 squares of unsweeted Baker's chocolate, please, let me know. I don't think we will be making another chocolate cake anytime soon.
